The newly expanded A380 Highway has four lanes, and was constructed with cement concrete, and designed for a speed of 120 kilometers per hour. It is currently the highest-grade highway in Uzbekistan and an important part of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Corridor. Upon completion, it is expected to improve local transportation and greatly boost economic development along the corridor.
Since the start of construction in July 2020, China Railway 20th Bureau Group Corporation Limited established a technical research team that actively collaborated with local engineers to determine construction plans. Over the construction process of more than three years, the company deployed over 50 Chinese technical management personnel who trained more than 600 Uzbekistan workers in maintenance, measurement, testing, and other skills to ensure the smooth progress of the project. In the road construction phase, the construction team used state-of-the-art large concrete slipform pavers and set a record of over 900 meters of daily pavement.
