The collection ceremony of the China-Europe Railway Express – CIIE Train and the launch ceremony of the China-Europe Railway Express – Shanghai Express arrival and departure station were held in Shanghai before the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE).
A train loaded with exhibits for the 6th CIIE, departing from Duisburg, Germany, arrived at the newly established arrival and departure station of CMST Development Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, marking the completion of a journey of over 11,000 kilometers that connects China and Germany, crossing both mountains and seas. The train completed the transportation in just 16 days, setting a new record for transportation efficiency on the China-Europe rail route.
In June this year, CMST Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Logistics Group Co., Ltd., signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Orient International (Holding) Co., Ltd., on the Belt and Road logistics system construction, bulk commodity supply chain services, logistics for spots goods and futures delivery, and international goods and services trade.
Over the past year, both sides have been working together on the construction of the arrival and departure station for the China-Europe Railway Express – Shanghai Express in Minhang district, Shanghai, aiming to create an international railway arrival and departure station integrating the functions of railway-specialized container dispatch, a customs supervision zone, a China-Europe railway express distribution center, and futures delivery. This facility now offers logistics for international container origination-to-destination, storage and transfer, container inspection, bulk cargo distribution, on-site storage, and futures delivery.
The official operation of the arrival and departure station of CMST Development Co., Ltd. will enhance the service infrastructure and support the high-quality operation of the China-Europe Railway Express – Shanghai Express, and serves as a fast new channel across the Eurasian continent for the bulk commodity industry. This development will significantly boost the integration and growth of the China-Europe Railway Express with industries such as manufacturing, trade, finance, and more.
