In order to guarantee smooth travel during the Spring Festival vacation, China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. (China Mobile) made efforts to improve its internet and communication service and organized voluntary activities.
High-quality internet
While guaranteeing regular internet optimization work, China Mobile strengthened internet service in key hubs like airports and ports, and along the railway and highway, ensuring people’s internet access on their way home.
For example, internet speed on the high-speed trains directly impacted passengers’ travel experience.
To improve efficiency and accuracy of the wireless network during the Spring Festival travel rush, China Mobile adopted an artificial intelligence (AI)-based smart algorithm and tool platform to achieve accurate evaluation of user perception and performance optimization. The “cloud image” - wireless network smart planning platform was also used to guarantee internet coverage along the railway.

Special groups were also arranged to guarantee 5G and high-quality internet service at the stations and on trains and buses.
Normal internet against extreme weather
Due to the ice and snow weather in Central China’s Henan Province, China Mobile strengthened internet operation monitoring, disaster warning, and emergency response in 254 traffic hubs like airports, high-speed train stations and bus stations.
A total of 4,778 workers, 2,533 emergency vehicles and 3,345 power generators were allocated in response to the extreme weather.
Snow storms were also seen in other regions like Southwest China’s Yunnan and Sichuan provinces, East China’s Zhejiang Province, Central China’s Hubei Province and Northwest China’s Gansu Province. Workers of China Mobile inspected communication devices and repairing base stations and optical cables through the mountains covered with heavy snow.
Voluntary service at stations
In addition to guaranteeing high-quality internet service along the way, China Mobile provided consultation service at the train and bus stations, making things easier for passengers’ travel.
In East China’s Jiangsu Province, China Mobile volunteers at the stations guided ways for passengers and help them carry their luggage.
In East China’s Shandong Province, China Mobile staff members helped people purchase train tickets to their hometowns by smart phone.
During the Spring Festival travel rush, China Mobile guaranteed internet and communication service to users and helped passengers have easier and more comfortable travel home.
