A Long March 3B carrier rocket was launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Southwest China's Sichuan Province on Feb 29, sending a high-orbit internet services satellite into preset orbit.

The satellite was generally developed by China Academy of Space Technology, a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
Developed by CASC’s China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, the Long March 3B carrier rocket has a carrying capacity of 5.55 metric tons in the geostationary transfer orbit.
The launch on Feb 29 was the 510th mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
