Gou said that in recent years, SASAC has resolutely implemented President Xi Jinping's important remarks on the work related to the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and guided central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to deeply integrate into Hong Kong to effectively serve the region’s economic and social development. Looking ahead, SASAC will continue to guide central SOEs to support Hong Kong in expanding international cooperation, build a functional platform for the Belt and Road cooperation, and support the construction of “Eight Centers" in the region, especially the international innovation and technology center, so as to help consolidate and enhance the region’s competitive advantages and continuously strengthen its development momentum, he said.

Lam said that the HKTDC is willing to actively build an international cooperation platform and join hands with enterprises in the Chinese mainland to explore overseas markets. The HKTDC welcomes central SOEs’ active participation in important activities in such fields as scientific and technological innovation, healthcare and finance in Hong Kong, Lam said, adding that he hopes enterprises in Hong Kong will further deepen cooperation with central SOEs, jointly implement the Belt and Road Initiative, and boost high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
