The two sides exchanged views on the recent development of China’s central state-owned enterprises (SOEs), Sino-Finnish trade cooperation, and reform of China’s SOEs, among other issues.
Both sides agreed that the important consensuses reached between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Finnish President Alexander Stubb during the latter’s state visit to China last year have opened up brighter and broader prospects for Sino-Finnish relations.
During the meeting, Gou noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Finland. He expressed SASAC’s willingness to work together with the Finnish side to implement the important consensuses reached by the heads of state of the two countries, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning, expand cooperation and share development achievements, in a bid to promote the continuous development of future-oriented new-type cooperative partnership between China and Finland.
SASAC will continue to support central SOEs in deepening economic and trade exchanges with Finnish companies, and expanding bilateral cooperation in emerging sectors such as information technology, digital economy, and biotechnology while consolidating their collaboration in traditional industries, he said.
Syrjala briefed on Finland’s national assets supervision and administration system and the development of its SOEs, and said that Finland is ready to leverage its advantages in innovation, talent, education, and other areas to explore new areas of cooperation with Chinese enterprises and promote mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
Officials from relevant departments of SASAC participated in the meeting.
