A China-Laos freight train carrying photovoltaic (PV) modules from LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (LONGi) recently departed from Wangjiaying West Station in Yunnan Province. Upon arriving at Muang Xay Railway Station in Laos, the shipment was delivered to the China General Nuclear Power Corporation’s PV project site in northern Laos.
This marks the first time LONGi’s PV products have been transported via the China-Laos Railway as well as the first time COSCO SHIPPING Lines (Qingdao) Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of China COSCO SHIPPING Corporation Limited, has provided end-to-end logistics services for LONGi’s China-Laos project.
The China-Laos Railway is the first international railway constructed with Chinese technical standards, equipped with Chinese-made facilities, and directly connected to China’s domestic rail network under the Belt and Road Initiative.
To ensure the smooth operation of this project, COSCO SHIPPING Lines (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. worked closely with the Yunnan railway platform company to design a tailored, multi-batch shipment solution featuring an increase in departure frequency. This approach ensured timely dispatch upon cargo arrival and optimized the overall transportation route and schedule, achieving shorter distances and faster transit times.
