From June 24 to 25, Li Zhen, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), attended the World Economic Forum’s 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin, where he listened to the special address by Premier Li Qiang.

During the event, Li met with Børge Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum (WEF). Li noted that in recent years, Chinese central state-owned enterprises (SOEs) have deepened practical cooperation with global partners, playing an active role in safeguarding global industrial and supply chain security, accelerating global economic recovery, and addressing global challenges.
He emphasized that SASAC is willing to further enhance communication with the WEF, deepen sci-tech innovation cooperation, and strengthen talent exchange and training.
Brende expressed the WEF’s willingness to further collaborate with SASAC and Chinese central SOEs, welcoming more central SOEs to actively participate in the forum’s activities.
While in Tianjin, Li held talks with Nguyen Duc Chi, Deputy Minister of Finance of Vietnam and a delegation of Vietnamese SOEs. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on exchanging reform experience in state-owned assets and SOEs, as well as practical cooperation in fields including critical minerals, connectivity, digital economy, and new energy, etc.
Representatives from Chinese central SOEs, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Tianjin People’s Government, and relevant bureau of SASAC attended the meeting.
