On June 30, China Southern Air Holding Company Ltd. (China Southern Group) officially launched its direct flight from Guangzhou to Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
With the visa exemption agreement between China and Uzbekistan in place, passenger traffic between the two countries carried by China Southern Group grew by nearly 40 percent year-on-year in June, and this growth trend continues. To further meet the growing travel needs between China and Uzbekistan, as well as other Central Asian countries and regions, China Southern Group officially inaugurated the new Guangzhou–Tashkent route on June 30.
The new Guangzhou–Tashkent route is operated with an Airbus A330-300 wide-body aircraft. The flight operates three round trips per week under flight numbers CZ3053/54. Outbound flights depart Guangzhou on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays at 19:35 and arrive in Tashkent at 23:50 local time, with a flight time of approximately 7 hours and 15 minutes. Return flights operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays, departing Tashkent at 01:30 and arriving in Guangzhou at 10:55, with a flight duration of about 6 hours and 25 minutes.
Leveraging China Southern Group’s extensive domestic and international networks, travelers arriving in Guangzhou can conveniently transfer to major Chinese cities such as Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Wuhan, as well as to destinations in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea.
The maiden flight was operated by the A330 fleet of China Southern Group. On the day of the inaugural flight, the airline set up a dedicated check-in counter at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, implemented a visa verification plan, and assigned coordination staff to assist group travelers, transit passengers, and late arrivals throughout the check-in and boarding process.
Currently, China Southern Group operates direct flights to Tashkent from Daxing District of Beijing and Urumqi of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, as well as a direct flight from Urumqi to Samarkand, Uzbekistan’s second-largest city. With the launch of the Guangzhou–Tashkent route, the company now operates four routes to Uzbekistan, with peak weekly round-trip flights reaching 18.
