On July 9 local time, Air China Flight CA829 landed at Cairo International Airport, marking the inauguration of the direct air link between Beijing and Cairo.
This marks the first non-stop air link between the capitals of China and Egypt since the introduction of the Beijing–Dubai–Cairo route in 1991. It is also Air China Limited’s second route to the African continent.
The new service operates three round-trip flights per week — on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with a travel time of approximately 12 hours per journey.
The new route represents a significant milestone in Air China’s continued efforts to expand its global route network and enhance international connectivity. It also serves as a powerful step in supporting the Belt and Road Initiative and deepening China–Egypt relations. By providing a more efficient air corridor, the route is expected to boost bilateral cultural exchanges and economic cooperation between the two countries.
