Construction began in November 2023, with a total floor area of 5,768 square meters. The facility houses 150 beds and is equipped with modern delivery rooms, neonatal intensive care units, and obstetric operating theaters.

China Railway 14th Bureau Group Corporation Limited will also provide two years of technical support for the hospital, including professional training programs for local medical staff, with the goal of establishing the facility as a key platform for China–Cape Verde medical cooperation.
