China Eastern Airlines Holding Co., Ltd. (CEAH) announced that from July 1 to August 31, the company and its subsidiaries operated a total of 194,000 flights, serving 28.06 million passengers.

During this summer travel season, average daily flight hours reached 8,168, up 13.3 percent compared with the pre-summer period. The airline set new records for International and regional flights, with 27,000 flights flying 4.492 million passengers, representing year-on-year increases of 9.8 percent and 13.6 percent, respectively.

CEAH currently operates 813 domestic routes and 229 international and regional routes.

To meet robust demand, the airline has expanded its network. Domestically, it launched new direct routes such as Shanghai Hongqiao–Jiayuguan, Shanghai Hongqiao–Hotan, Nanjing/Hangzhou–Yining, and Dali–Shenzhen. On average, it operates about 18,900 weekly domestic round trips, supporting the booming tourism market.

Internationally, CEAH opened new routes including Shanghai Pudong–Geneva, Shanghai Pudong–Milan, and Shanghai–Copenhagen. It also increased flight frequencies to popular destinations across Europe, the Americas, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and North Africa. Currently, weekly international and regional round-trip flights average 3,052.

In addition to increasing flights, CEAH upgraded multiple service products to ensure smooth summer travel. Its “Air Express” service — covering major business routes such as Beijing–Shanghai — introduced a more flexible free rebooking policy and free basic inflight Wi-Fi for wide-body aircraft passengers. The airline also offers automated baggage transfers for transit passengers between Shanghai Pudong and Hongqiao airports.

The company’s “Air-Rail Intermodal” network expanded to 48 cities, 51 airports, and 84 railway hubs, reaching 869 railway stations and linking with 1,604 train routes. Over the summer, this service facilitated travel for 560,000 passengers.
