Adhering to China’s high-level opening-up policy in 2025, China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO Group) has expanded its overseas market and advanced into new industrial areas. With increased scale and enhanced product quality, it now has a bigger swing on the international market.
Expanding Global Market Presence
Its subsidiaries gained considerable recognition in the international market. The “LAMIKAL” brand cathode copper produced by Norin Mining Ltd. is regarded as Grade A by London Metal Exchange. Zhang Renxu, a senior engineer of North Chemical Industries Co., Ltd., was re-appointed to the Executive Committee of World Nitrocellulose Producers Association, reinforcing the global leadership of the company’s nitro-cotton products. Polypropylene T30S produced by North Huajin Chemical Industries Group Corporation was exported to Southeast Asia for the first time, pioneering a new market.
Domestic manufacturers achieved broader overseas market reach. The couplers produced by Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group Co., Ltd. made their debut in the South Korea market and the group’s open-top wagons entered Mongolia’s market for the first time. Ling Yun Industrial Corporation Limited supplied key components for the new energy platforms of international automakers such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz, achieving a full-chain technological breakthrough. Oil drilling equipment of Heilongjiang North Tool Co., Ltd was exported to Central Asia and the Middle East. In-site mixed-load ammonium nitrate-fuel oil trucks, produced by Huaihai Industries Group Co., Ltd., were delivered to the North American market.
New Journey in a Shared Future
By the end of May, 2025, the Nam Phay Hydropower Plant in Laos, the first overseas build-operate-transfer project of Norinco International, a subsidiary of the NORINCO Group, had generated more than 3 billion kilowatt-hours of power. Meanwhile, construction commenced on the 75-megawatt Korlat photovoltaic (PV) project, the largest PV project in Croatia to date. It is undertaken by Norinco International Cooperation and Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute Corp., Ltd.
In August, the 1.3-megawatt solar power plant at the East Baghdad Oilfield, a demonstration project of renewable energy jointly developed by China ZhenHua Oil Co., Ltd and Iraq’s Midland Oil Company, was completed and put into operation.
On the journey of Belt and Road cooperation, the NORINCO Group is working hand in hand with local communities toward a better future. In Pakistan, the Lahore Orange Line Metro Train System has been safely operating for five years, having carried over 270 million passengers with a punctuality rate of 99.9 percent.
