The first scheduled China‑Laos‑Thailand express freight train, jointly developed by CRM Supply Chain Technology Group Co., Ltd., under China Logistics Group Co., Ltd. (China Logistics) and the logistics subsidiary of Zhongyu Port Group, arrived on September 1 at Thailand’s Laem Chabang Port. The train carried auto parts from SAIC Motor’s Zhengzhou base.

The train departed from the China‑Europe Railway Express (Zhengzhou) Assembly Center in Zhengzhou, the capital of Central China’s Henan Province, traveled through Laos, and ultimately arrived at Laem Chabang Port in Thailand. This train service can complete the journey in five to six days, cutting nearly two-thirds of the travel time by conventional ocean transport. It also shortens travel time by two to three days compared with ordinary trains.
SAIC Motor’s Zhengzhou base is less than 50 kilometers from the assembly center, allowing cargo to be consolidated at the terminal in about one hour by road. By coordinating resources from all participating agencies, CRM Supply Chain Technology Group Co., Ltd., delivered end‑to‑end logistics services, including cargo consolidation and terminal entry, export customs clearance and cross‑border rail transport.
The company also provided customized services and pre-scheduled inspections to reduce cargo waiting time. In this way, it achieved simultaneous cargo loading and inspection, substantially lowering costs incurred by unpacking and secondary handling. In addition, it employed video surveillance and a smart terminal system to monitor cargo status, ensuring all-week, around-the-clock safe and smooth logistics services.

In the first seven months of this year, Henan’s imports and exports of ASEAN goods reached 83.63 billion yuan ($12.46 billion), a year‑on‑year increase of 28.9 percent. As the scheduled China‑Laos‑Thailand express train enters regular operation, Henan‑made commodities will reach ASEAN markets at a faster pace, while more characteristic ASEAN commodities, such as durians, will gain easier access to China’s market.
Taking the inaugural run of this train as an opportunity, China Logistics will further integrate into high‑quality Belt and Road cooperation. By providing efficient and stable cross‑border logistics services, it will build an “express highway” for economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, enabling more “made‑in‑China” products to reach global markets and more quality goods worldwide to enter China.
