The “Silk Road Maritime”, a trade data service platform initiated by Fujian Provincial Port Group Co., Ltd., has collected global trade data from 230 countries and regions and 3 million types of commodities since its launch in March. This marks the platform’s upgrade from the building of shipping route networks and its formal entry into a new phase of digital ecosystem development.

The platform aims to serve as a full-chain, full-scenario digital hub that can provide market insights and customer development services for import and export enterprises, offer shipping route and order analysis for port and logistics operators, conduct risk assessments for financial institutions and provide industrial planning and decision-making support for government agencies.

Meteorological services, a crucial part of the Maritime Silk Road service system, run through the entire port-shipping-trade chain. In recent years, Fujian Province has established a full-chain meteorological support system, aligning offshore meteorological observation with port meteorological services. The platform’s special intelligent agent can display real-time meteorological risks for 58 ports worldwide on a single platform and conduct corresponding assessments. The platform’s global meteorological guidance services cover areas in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Oceans, and have been used by a wide range of vessel types, such as container ships, bulk carriers and chemical tankers, achieving an average route optimization rate of 30 percent.
